i think haj was right in thinking/suggesting that a listserv is what we would
want if we wanted to keep doing what we're doing now... so to speak. but then
again perhaps someone might tell me what we're doing now.... who's doing it ...
etc....

but a web page that was a main basis of contact. e-mail addresses... perhaps
pictures... particular stuff. bios etc. whatever whoever would want to put up...
in a semi-fixed format.... i am not about to update all this e-mail . though
even that... on a weekly monthly basis...of paste-ing everything up. well,
no... but how bout some ideas. what do folks think... of...

then again who's on the web/into it .... ed, you there yet. who else. etc...

a page for tigers would be great......

best to y'all......... J>

and welcome john W. suddenly i think of cindy clark at harvard at the fogg.
was that you. but gaunt, slightly greyish... very fine. but again i'm glad
to be in touch with all the andover scholarship students.... well, 56.
interesting. is that perception accurate? well, not ed. and exclude myself
as 57... but?

and where is CUA.EDU?

John W... indeed. maybe high jumping? pole vaulting.... broad jumping....
but damn, i don't recall you down in the bottom of the art building. but
then i spent that extra year it took them to get me out of there... so
to speak. so things were a bit blurred.. well, just more blurred.

and you certainly did continue along that line... quite extraordinary
where we all have wiggled. still out there.......

look forward to seeing you/your work on the web. and wonderful hearing
you .will definitely be in touch.......

very best J>

as perhaps others have mentioned, you can find me all over a site (below)

I don't suppose people without WWW access could e-mail to the WEB page???
Plus, how would they read it, if they could?? This may be beyond the ken of
some of us quasi-Luddites. -- Doc

Hey, John, What a surprise!! But what about the guys that don't have
the machines? How are they going to do this? Can they go to their
local Kinko's or whatever you call them there and rent a ride on a
super-computer (a PowerMac or something) and check in? Will they ever
figure it out?? -- Doc

........ wed. afternoons are most active on the net..........

(but it's earlier out there. all the way west. what if everyone wrote a
brief note, saying/describing where they are. then.... but that's a little
something for the site)

and i think for a bit......

i have no idea (ie:if they got e-mail, they will eventually have a browser.
a telephone)..... but if you .... or the rest of you (they) want to put any
material on the site, i will be glad to put it up. e-mail will continue as
usual, i assume - the site will certainly have no effect on that... but it
will be able to be a record of the threads... (i mean, i could continue to
paste them up from time to time.....)

yes people could go see a picture of the boat you're talking about. ed could
send recent snaps of ocean racing etc..... or johnW's recent work ..

(haj? you out there?) and mike, where's mcBride? (the guy i grew up with.
saw him just after i had come back from vietnam and film. he ran ABC for
some years for mrs.lake forest. and missed him in taos a year ago last jan ...
when i was getting it together for ITP@nyu.... and jim lorenz... movie theater
on shattuck almost twenty years ago. after he was the "candidate" for
robert redford. i was working with a friend of mine and his ex-wife on a
film in the chicano varrio "logan", san diego. greeting was grim. i think
he was having rough time ....or.... where's jerry brown? and burt creese?
(he also wore a white jacket) or bob hulbert? (not harrison) wilke was in
bones with bush. and of course wilson was queer. but so was pat morgan.
(i will find maud's address so that you might write to her for her life story ...
what an amazing journey. many of you might have heard me on that before...) .
and jim clunan who coordinated the pentagon and the state dept. ( was just
sitting elbow to elbow with a guy that i made a film with in mississippi (1966) ...
editing material he's video'd... PS.51-brooklyn... he's been teaching there for
the past twenty years. tom griffin.exeter'57.... ah, harvard'61.)

and then i thought....

a page or two for the class of '97 (andover). a little slice of us. after
all we weren't asked to come back and talk to them on this journey of theirs....
well, that's a sort of project for us... for maybe us and them.....

but what do you (all) want to put on it? it's there... here!
from doc (?) and me......... love J>

(a little kahlua and vodka ... no beer. smoke. and my honey's clean!
